5 Tips for Awesome Getting Ready Photos – Girls

If getting ready photos are important to you, I have included some tips on what I think can make them shine.
The Walls
This beautiful bride chose a house in Byron to get ready at Wategoes Beach and it totally suited her wedding. This is one of my favourite getting ready sessions because the images on the wall and the style of this room really suited these girls and their robes, so look for pictures on the walls and wall colours that suit your wedding style.
Nice Feautures
This villa in Bali had so many beautiful features and provided a beautiful backdrop for getting ready photos. There was a lot of timber which created warmth and plenty of places to hang dresses. I could have photographed the details of this villa all day.
Good Natural Light
This home is another favourite, these shutters in the bride’s bedroom provided perfect light adjustment. This room had a very warm feel, so did the whole house. I loved being able to hang the dress and shoes on shutters.
Allow Enough Time
There have been a number of times as photographers, we have been hindered by time and have been unable to get photos due to hair and make-up getting done up to the very last minute. If you have a large number of family members having hair and make-up done, such as mum, grandma, in-laws, be aware this will take quite a bit of extra time.
Work with your photographer on a timeline and then with your hair and make-up team so all hair and make-up for the bridal party is finished to allow plenty of time for other types of photos such as you and your bridesmaids having a glass of champagne and the beautiful photos of you getting dressed.
Match Your Outfit
There are so options with robes – a huge variety of styles and colours, other alternatives are boxer shorts and shirts with logos. Wearing clothes which match take girls getting ready photos to a whole other level. A tip is to make sure the clothes fit everyone properly.
