Updated 2021

Firstly – a big congratulations…..and welcome to the world of being engaged.

Sometimes it can be like, well now what…..where do I go from here, so below I have put some tips on where can be a good place to start.

1. Enjoy the Moment

As you progress through the various stages of planning your wedding , we hope you take time to enjoy the little moments – your journey, especially the attention you will get. Also, if members of your bridal party are not there for you…..don’t let it get to you, focus on the good. Often if someone in your bridal party has not been married themselves, they may not know the best way to support you.

2. Throw an Engagement Party

Even if it is just an intimate dinner with family and close friends, celebrate! Being engaged is worth celebrating. Make this moment a milestone.

3. Have An Engagement Photo Session

Before you know it you will be married so have an engagement shoot for the memories, plus to get used to having your photo taken in prep for the big day.

4. Start thinking about the season you would like to marry in.

Autumn

A beautiful time to get married, not as popular as Spring but the weather is very similar. A great alternative to the busy Spring season.

Winter

A beautiful time to get married in SE Qld and northern NSW, not too busy. The days are shorter and the evenings colder. However the days are beautiful to be outdoors in. The sun warms nicely, very easy for guys to wear suits.

Spring

The most popular time of year to get married, venues will be at the peak and most people in the industry will be very busy during this period. If you plan to marry in Spring get booking as soon as possible. Despite Springs popularity, it often can be a very windy season, especially September.

Summer

Very hot, strong chance of rain, unpredictable weather patterns, especially December and January. A difficult time of year for wearing a suit. Difficult to be outdoors without shade.

5. Begin Some Venue Research

Our region (SE Qld and Northern NSW) has a huge amount of options with incredible beaches (the southern ones are the best) and a large variety of beautiful country estates.

One way to explore wedding venues is to go to an Expo where often a large range of the most popular venues will be exhibiting.

Some of our favourites venues are:

Maleny Manor

Maleny – Australia’s most loved venue – what can I say, this place has it all

Eco Studio Fellini

Gold Coast Hinterland – An intimate award winning venue with chooks, a historic venue, lake, outdoor chapel

Sarabah Estate Winery

Gold Coast Hinterland – A sprawling winery that has Alpakas and which dogs are allowed

Glengariff Historic Estate

North Brisbane – a piece of Tuscany, Italy

Kirra Hill Community Centre

Southern Gold Coast – A blank canvas you can do anything with – large open spaces, views to the water and a historic building

Some of our favourite beaches are:

  • Froggys at Rainbow Beach
  • North Burleigh
  • Palm Beach
  • Currumbin and Elephant Rock

Tips for Your Wedding Day

The most important thing on the day, is for you to relax, the most beautiful photos will be of your love, your joy and your happiness.and now planning a wedding….you are about to get some big lessons in event planning and by the end you will have developed some pretty incredible skills.

Happy Planning!
